Evaluation and Assessment

We offer research-informed Differential Diagnostic Evaluations and Reproductive Mental Health Assessments to support individuals in understanding their mental health experiences and related treatment needs.

Differential Diagnostic Evaluations are thorough assessments that help clarify or diagnose (i.e., label) mental health experiences. We specialize in evaluating risk for or experiences of recurrent mood disorders, including bipolar disorders.

Reproductive Mental Health Assessments are designed to support individuals and their healthcare providers in identifying and addressing potential mental health needs before, during, or following pregnancy, especially with the management of mood disorders.

Psychotherapy

We offer two evidence-based individual psychotherapies: Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT). We also offer explorative and reflective psychotherapy to support perspective, discovery, and skill development.

Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) focuses on the connection between mental health and interpersonal life events. It helps individuals navigate life changes, relationship conflicts, grief (related to another person's death), and loneliness. Through IPT, individuals learn about their mental health, cope with and adapt to life events, and reduce interpersonal distress.

Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) is an integrated approach that combines IPT with Social Rhythm Therapy (SRT). SRT focuses on creating and maintaining regular daily routines to support overall well-being. Life events — big or small, positive or negative, expected or unexpected — can disrupt these routines and destabilize the body's circadian rhythms, such as the sleep-wake cycle. For some, these disruptions can trigger or worsen mental health symptoms. By focusing on creating and stabilizing rhythms and improving interpersonal relationships, IPSRT helps individuals find balance and health. This therapy is particularly effective for those with recurrent depression or bipolar disorder.
